I’ve got to be honest. Whatever the occasion, be it weddings or birthdays, fundraisers, or parties, the thing I look forward to the most is always the food.
When it comes to carnivals and funfairs (especially as I get older), it’s exactly the same. I’d rather get a stomach ache from some seriously delicious junk food than from getting thrown around by some ride, surrounded by screaming children.
This year, with hordes of vendors competing for spots on food TikTok channels and other social media accounts, we’ve been seeing festival foods become more and more over the top. Without further ado, here are three of the craziest eats that will have you sprinting towards the fairgrounds!
1. Tottenham Hotspur F.C. Fried Soccer Boot Chicken

Winner winner, chicken dinner!
In support of Son Heung-min and his football club, Tottenham Hotspur F.C, South Korean convenience store GS25 has collaborated with the football team to release a special edition of their crowd-favourite fried chicken.
The tender, white chicken meat is seasoned, breaded, and shaped to form a unique soccer boot shape, and comes in a box that celebrates Heung-min and his teammates with a winning photograph and club logo.
I think we can all agree that fried chicken is one of the ultimate champions when it comes to savoury snacks— but watch out who you pull out that box in front of! You never know if you’re going to ruffle the feathers of a hardcore Arsenal fan.
2. #FreeBritney Ice Cream

Portland-based ice creamery Salt & Straw has built their brand on their highly experimental takes on everyone’s favourite sweet, creamy treat. Recently, they took things to a whole new level with their limited edition, ‘Viral’-themed flavours.
This release showcased iconic moments in pop culture in ice cream form, such as Billionaire Boys Club, Calamari Contest, Non-Fungible-Tropical Tuna Tamales, Nature’s Cereal, and my personal favourite— #FreeBritney!
Featuring pink bubble gum ice cream with Pepsi and champagne gummy bears and a ton of edible glitter, one might expect this popstar princess flavour to be overly sweet. However, they managed to keep things perfectly balanced with a delicate bubble gum taste— and to that I say, hit me baby, one (or three) more time(s).
3. Krispy Kreme Pulled Pork Sandwich

Sweet meets savoury with this unexpected, yet incredibly appetising creation by everyone’s favourite donut franchise, Krispy Kreme!
This beloved donut destination teamed up with Canadian diner Pull’d to bring you a mouthwatering mountain of tender, flavourful pulled pork sandwiched between two halves of the classic Krispy Kreme Original Glazed donut and complemented by tangy, tantalising coleslaw.
Whether you’re a hardcore sweet tooth or a seasoned meat-lover, you’ll definitely want to dig in to this sweet and succulent snack!
4. Tears Of My Enemies by Monday Night Brewing

Just like the tears of your worst enemies, this recent craft brew by Atlanta-based Monday Night Brewing is absolutely chef’s kiss-worthy.
This 9.3% ABV Imperial Milk Stout is packed with locally crafted milk chocolate, coffee, and Ugandan vanilla beans, resulting in a deeply chocolatey, delicately roasted taste that goes down as smooth and sweet as its namesake. 5. Budweiser Zero

If you’re not into alcoholic beverages, Budweiser has your back with their latest alcohol-free brew— Budweiser Zero.
This well-loved brewery took an innovative step to create this non-alcoholic drink just in time for the Qatar World Cup, where the sale of alcohol will be prohibited.
With only 50 calories and zero grams of sugar, this delicious, refreshing beverage comes in 12-ounce cans and bottles as well as 16-ounce cans. Whether you’re cheering on your favourite team or taking a break from the hustle and bustle of the fairgrounds, it’s the perfect healthy, refreshing alternative to your regular brewski.
